Really high signal. the
WRT54G hooked up on the 2nd floor of the house and we can connect to the signal in the basement of the house! (Our cell phones don't even work in the basement!) It's really simple to setup; just put in the CD and follow the step-by-step instructions. Editing the information later is simple too. Very user-friendly!

This is one hell of a router. I got it while it was on sale, but even for the slightly higher price it is a bargain. This version can be modified with dd-wrt and other such third party firmware that open up many features found in high end routers. Incredibly flexible. I'm running this with a parabolic grid antenna, and it just cannot be beat.

I have used one of these WRT54G routers before, so I was well aware as to what I was getting and how it would work. However, the install disc that I received was less than useful. I ended up having to go to the manufacturer's website on my phone to find an easier way to install it. The disc that I received was obviously homemade and had a bunch of useless software on it. I found a forum on the Linksys website that showed how to install and setup the router via my web browser using the standard IP address as the url. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable router for a decent price. However, don't use the install disc. Go to the Linksys site and find the setup instructions there.

The WRT54G routers are always turned on, in each of my three homes on three continents. It is powerful enough to go through a couple of concrete walls, never drops signals, and is a child's play to set up. Great price too! I wish all computer products were made like these. I hope Cisco will never change this model! J&R is the best place to buy it from.
